Net Health Design System

Transforming static UI documentation into a scalable design system

As Net Health’s product suite expanded, its user interface standards lived primarily in a static Axure style guide. It documented visual rules, but it was not built for reusable components, rapid iteration, or efficient collaboration. As AI tools quickly came into focus, I helped establish standards for responsible experimentation alongside the transition to a shared Figma design system.

Together, these efforts transformed static documentation into reusable components, variables, patterns, and guidance used across multiple enterprise healthcare products.

    My Role
    UX/UI Designer II

    Responsibilities

    • Component architecture
    • UI and interaction standards
    • Component documentation
    • Design variables
    • Data visualization standards
    • Engineering collaboration
    • Established internal AI prompting standards
    • Evaluated AI-assisted UX workflows
    • Created guidance for responsible AI use

    Outcome

    • 78+ reusable components
    • Dozens of component variants
    • Used across 4 enterprise products
    • AI prompt templates

    The Challenge
These challenges reflected a design process that no longer scaled with the organization's growing product ecosystem.

    My Approach

    What’s Included
The design system extended beyond a component library. It established a shared language for visual design, interaction patterns, content, accessibility, and engineering implementation across Net Health's enterprise products. Each section was designed to help teams make consistent decisions while reducing duplicated work.

    Selected System Highlights
Rather than documenting every aspect of the system, here are a few examples that illustrate how it supported consistent product design.

    Variables

Created shared design variables for colors, spacing, typography, and other foundational properties so updates could be managed centrally instead of component by component. This improved consistency across products while making future design changes significantly easier to maintain.

    Data Visualization Styles

Developed reusable standards for charts, graphs, legends, color usage, empty states, and data presentation across analytics products. These guidelines established a consistent visual language while supporting accessibility and accurate interpretation of complex healthcare data.

    AI  Standardization

Researched emerging AI workflows and documented guidance for when and how generative AI could support product design. This included prompt templates, recommended use cases, and best practices that helped teams experiment responsibly while maintaining quality and consistency.

    Results:

    • 78 + reusable components

    • Dozens of variants

    • Used across four enterprise products

    •  Documentation for designers and engineers

    • AI usage standards
