What will we be doing?
We’ll go over the basic tools and materials, most common stitches, and how to choose materials for future projects.
You’ll learn and practice:
- slip knot
- chain stitch
- single crochet
- double crochet
- working into rows
- turning your work
- fastening off
- reading basic crochet abbreviations
The goal is not to finish something perfect. The goal is to leave with enough confidence to keep practicing on your own.

What is a Crochet Basics workshop?
A hands-on introduction to crochet for anyone who wants to learn the foundations.
In this workshop, we’ll slow down and learn the basic stitches, tools, and language of crochet. You’ll learn how to hold the yarn and hook, read simple stitch terms, practice foundational stitches, and begin a small sample piece you can continue after class.
All materials included.
How do I know if it’s right for me?
This workshop is for complete beginners, rusty beginners, or anyone who wants a calm, in-person introduction to crochet.
No previous crochet experience is required.
